UGR <5 Dimmable LED Spotlights UGR<19 Downlights
WALTECH LIGHTING specializes in manufacturing UGR <5 LED spotlights(beam angles 8° to 38° and UGR <10 LED downlights (beam angle with38°)

Please Note the Difference Between Spotlights and Downlights:
LED Spotlights: Beam angles from 8° to 36°/ LED Downlights: Beam angles from 50° to 110°
Important: The wider the beam angle, the higher the UGR (Unified Glare Rating). The narrower the beam angle, the lower the UGR.
For example: The same luminaire, 24° spotlight UGR <5., when equipped with a 55° spotlight optic, UGR about 6–8.
This is because a wider beam distributes more light into the observer’s field of view, resulting in a higher glare rating.
UGR Classification Guide for LED Spotlights & Downlights:
1> UGR <19 Features: Standard anti-glare performance suitable for most commercial environments.
Applications:Offices, schools, retail stores, and general commercial lighting. The most common specification in the market.
2>UGR <16 Features: Improved glare control compared with UGR <19.
Applications:Suitable for commercial spaces where moderate visual comfort is acceptable. Generally not recommended for residential spaces, as glare may still be noticeable and can contribute to eye fatigue during prolonged use.
3>UGR <13 Features:Comfortable lighting with low glare for everyday home use.
Applications:Living rooms, bedrooms, and other residential spaces where higher visual comfort is required.
4>UGR <10 Features:Typically features a deep anti-glare reflector with a black reflector finish. Looking toward the luminaire while watching TV or relaxing is comfortable, with the light source barely noticeable.
Applications:Premium residential lighting, including living rooms, bedrooms, studies, and whole-house lighting. Also widely used in high-end “trimless” or minimalist ceiling lighting projects.
5>UGR <3-5 Features:Usually designed with a deep black reflector or micro-aperture optical design, reflector depth of 45–60 mm, and 24°–36° spot beams. A few 50°–55° flood downlights can also achieve this range. The light source is barely visible, providing an almost glare-free experience.
Applications:Luxury bedrooms, home cinemas, children’s rooms, feature lighting, and wall washing in living rooms.
6>UGR <3 Features:Achievable only with narrow beam spotlights (15°–30°) using micro-aperture optics, deep reflectors (55–65 mm or more), and a shielding angle greater than 50°. Even when looking directly at the luminaire, the light source is almost invisible, delivering an exceptional glare-free experience.
Applications:Home theaters, museums, art galleries, exhibition halls, projection rooms, and other applications requiring the highest level of visual comfort.
7>UGR <0 Features:dimmable LED Spotlights
Applications::Luxury bedrooms, home cinemas, children’s rooms, feature lighting, and wall washing in living rooms.
Note: UGR is influenced by multiple factors, including beam angle, reflector design, shielding angle, installation height, room dimensions, and surface reflectance. In general, the wider the beam angle, the higher the UGR; the narrower the beam angle, the lower the UGR, assuming the same luminaire design.
A common sales trick: quoting the UGR<3 rating from a 24° spotlight for a 55° flood‑type downlight, which is false specification labeling.
